Degrees and Certifications:
New Underwood is my home and many of you watched me as I grew up and graduated here. I am the Superintendent and K-5 Principal. This is a huge job but I am blessed with an amazing staff, each of them are professional and very capable. They are the reason that NU Tigers are the best!
I am a 1997 graduate of NUHS, and I completed my teaching credentials at Chadron State College in 2002. I spent some time directly out of college in the fundraising realm and worked as the regional director for Easter Seals South Dakota for two years before accepting my first teaching position with the alternative schools in Rapid City. During my eight years of employment at the Rapid City Academy, I worked with amazing teachers, staff, administrators, and students. I earned a master's degree in educational administration from South Dakota State University in 2010 and am a certified principal. In 2012 I chose to return to my alma mater. I served as the English and Drama teacher until 2017, then took a position as the K-8 Principal, Senior Experience and Elementary Art teacher until 2019. All the while, I have served in many capacities including Student Council advisor, Lego League coach, and supervisor of many activities.
I am proud of my community and school and serve in this capacity because I have a desire to make a positive impact on all students who attend New Underwood Schools.
