Tiger Paw

Dear New Underwood School District Families,

Tomorrow marks the start of the 2025–2026 school year, and I am thrilled to extend a heartfelt welcome to New Underwood School!

While many familiar faces return, we are also excited to greet new students and staff who are now part of our Tiger family. Together, we look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and opportunities to shine.

Our mission is to create a culture of academic and personal excellence for every student, staff member, and in essence, our community. We invite you to join us in this effort. Please reach out if you have questions, need clarification, or have a concern. We deeply value the partnership of parents and families — your role is vital to our collective success.

Each year we make adjustments to strengthen our school environment and culture. While we are not perfect, we remain committed to using our resources wisely and striving for continual improvement, no matter how big or small. A growth mindset guides our work, and we are always open to suggestions for how we can better serve our students and families.

You inevitably will have noticed a construction zone on the south side of Ash Street where we will be installing some new classrooms over the course of the school year. We will provide updates as the year progresses on the project and look forward to their use (most likely in school year 26-27). They will provide some much needed learning space for our students and staff in the near future.

Thank you for entrusting us with your children and allowing us to walk alongside them as they grow. Together, we will make this a year to remember. And as our motto reminds us: Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger!

Best wishes for a wonderful 2025–2026 school year,

Katie Albers
Superintendent
