New Underwood School will begin receiving food backpacks from Feeding South Dakota the first week of September. They will be delivered to classrooms on September 5th.

It has been a fantastic first week of school! 🎉 It’s been wonderful to see all the students and staff getting back into the swing of things.
As we settle into the school year, just a quick reminder to keep safety in mind, especially with the ongoing construction on I-90. Many are using HWY 1416 as an alternative route.
🚗Remember to adhere to the speed limits as you drive through town:
35 MPH when entering town on 14/16
25 MPH on Main Street
20 MPH on other city streets
15 MPH in school zones (24/7, including around the school and athletic complex)
With many of our students walking in these areas each day, let’s all be extra cautious, particularly during pick-up and drop-off times. Your attention and care make a big difference in keeping our kids safe. Thanks for your cooperation and have a great weekend! 🚸
ATTENTION ALL ADULTS WHO LOVE BOOKS! I am thinking about beginning an adult book club this year and wondering if anyone would be interested in joining. The book club would be of an evening on Tuesdays (tentative) in the library. We would take turns with bringing in a small treat and choosing the book. More details to follow once I know how many, if anyone, would be interested. This will be open to anyone in the community that is 18 years old or older. The school office will open at approximately 12:00 pm tomorrow, Thursday, July 25th.
There will be Free Sports Physicals on August 1st from 4:00-6:00 in the school gym. Shawnee Early, a Family Nurse Practitioner, will administer them. You must have your Health History Form Filled out prior to your physical. You may get those documents on the school website or in the office. If you have any major medical issues, she asks that you see your primary doctor.

Patriots Softball 2024 TryOuts
Coach Carmichael hopes to see New Underwood Middle School girls interested in basketball at skill camp on June 6th and 7th from 4-6 pm. This is a girls-only camp.
Reminder: Parents of elementary and middle school students who qualify for mileage reimbursement, please remember to submit your form. The deadline for turning them in is June 13th.
Happy Last Day of School!! Students are dismissed at 12:00pm today. Summer office hours begin, Tuesday, May 28th, 8am-3pm M-Th. The office will be closed Thursday, May 23rd and Friday, May 24th. Have a great Memorial day & wonderful summer break!
The NU Library is looking for someone who would be willing to repair the outdoor library. The doors are leaking, making it difficult to keep the books dry.
